Delhi is a Union Territory which has served as the capital of various kingdoms and empires over the years. New Delhi was built under the British rule in 1931. Today it is the largest commercial centre of Northern India. The Delhi Metro was India’s first modern public transportation system. There are several historic buildings here like the Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Qutab Minar, Humayun’s Tomb, etc… Delhi’s Mughlai Cuisine is world famous as it originated from here. At the same time street food outlets like the Punjabi Dhaba’s and Gali Paranthe Wali are very popular.
